Anita, My Sister: You Taught Me Life's Ways

You taught me to love you, as are sisterly ways.
To let go when school took you away;
To fight even in play;
To love my children, watching you day by day;
To go against those who are strong
when they are wrong;
That flowers and gardens
deserve more credit than many give them;
How to survive
when a child disowns you
and you feel as if she died;
That great joys come from grandchildren
when you play with them;
You taught me a country walk
can help when I need to talk.
