Nafisah Suleiman Poems

"Where did she go? " Aunt said.
I heard vividly from behind as I ran.
I ran with the world in my head.
I didn't know I was lost…maybe in my head or maybe in my mind.

What is my crime for being quiet and shy?
If you are loud and fly.
What is my crime of being different as fine?
If you are the different of cool.

The World In Her Head.

"Where did she go? " Aunt said.
I heard vividly from behind as I ran.
I ran with the world in my head.
I didn't know I was lost…maybe in my head or maybe in my mind.
I was a lost Princess, Nightingale.

I admired my dress in Scarlet as the finest.
And I must confess, I was silly not like the lily.
Believe me, I didn't know I was lost…maybe in my head or maybe in my mind.

I will tell you the story, Nightingale.

She was a lost Princess, Nightingale.
She didn't know the truth.
She didn't know she would soon meet the beginning of her story.

Jesus called her out
And she stopped, in that minute.
She became still;
Quite still and unusually calm.

She was no longer lost…maybe in her head or maybe in her mind.
Jesus wore her a white dress
with so much beauty and glory.

Now, She has her beginning
and her end in Jesus Christ.
