How To Go On

My head spins
As the light in my heart dims
Exhausted from the emotion
I’m held captive by my devotion
I’ve got everywhere to roam
But nowhere to go
I’ve forgotten what to do
How to go on without you
A goodwill gesture of the heart
But it only tore us apart
Now the walls have blocked us out
And there’s a bitter taste in my mouth
You need me to understand
But I’m doing the best I can
Another door opens when one is closed
A friend once told me so
But reaching for the doorknob is a chore
Because I just don’t care anymore
