Valentine's Day Massacre

Cupid's bow, once more, stretched taut
In Valentine's name sends arrows rought
Of desparation, hope and love
In hearts that soar down from above.

Angst-gripped youths and chastened Misses
Blow a million red-drenched kisses
And fill the very air we suck
With urgent pleas to Lady Luck

But arrows which in haste are fired
May never reach the one admired
And even hearts so true and pure
Don't always have the right allure

As day dawns pavements land along
Are littered with the ones gone wrong
One each for all who did demur
A vast and bloody masse a coeurs
