Insignificant Us

</>With big bright eyes that shine on our lives,
the sun revolves about and looks down.
It doesn't know our faults or problems,
it just keeps us spinning round.
And although we may believe
that we were masterfully conceived,
life goes on all around us and doesn't stop to relieve.
Relieve us of our aches and pains,
or even perceive our losses and our gains.
It just goes on without a thought of us, cold as stone.
Not a thought for dead bodies strewn across battle zones.
So all there is to do is accept the fact that chills me to my bone,
that my fate, future, destiny are all up to me...me alone
