Blacksmith Cuckoo

an encounter in the lamb on good Wednesday
an unguarded moment let you have your say
spiralling me back into the world you stole
my fire is not for your old cold coal

you talking away like it was still yesterday
but I had time to make my own way
fire light remains when the power is gone
clinkered coal is buried when the work is done

of all the good people I run into you
did curiosity betray me too?
a fire weld won't join when it's too cold
I have forgotten what you'll will never know

and I will make the good fire roar
fresh air bellows through the tuyère
white heat in the heart of the fire
nothing will evaporate my desire
