My full potential
Lies unawakened, undisturbed,
Untouched.
It sits alone in a dark corner,
...
Never To Be Reached
My full potential
Lies unawakened, undisturbed,
Untouched.
It sits alone in a dark corner,
Covered in dust and cobwebs,
Never to be touched.
Never to be reached.
I cannot move.
I cannot think.
This bondage holds me tight,
It squeezes my heart
In its iron grip.
Like a pair of handcuffs
It binds me and holds me back.
Where, oh where, is the key
To unlock these chains
That hold me so?
I shall never reach
My full potential.
It will sit alone. Untouched.
Forever.
For if I cannot reach it,
No one ever will.
It will sit alone in the darkness,
Covered in dust and cobwebs,
Never to be touched.
Never to be reached.
So I will sit,
Tied to my hard, wooden chair,
Watching the dust particles float by
In the rays of sunshine
Filtering through my dungeon windows.
I refuse to look at that corner,
That dark corner that holds
My full potential.
For the very sight of it,
Will break my aching heart.
I know I can never reach it.
So why would I meet its eye?
Where, oh where, is the key
To unlock these handcuffs?
Where is the key
To release me from this bondage?
