Cape Cod sand is heavy ... hot
Little children slide the sand dunes
Sliding down to small lagoons.

The halls were dark; the room was sad
And yet it was all the home that I had
The quarters were close, the stairs were steep
The snows of winter were ever so deep...

Magnolias bloom white and pure in the morning sun
The musical rhapsody is blue as the sky
The crowds, the cheering drift upward on high
The flags all a fluttering, the medals are gleaming
