Umbilical Obligation

As mother extended her jaws and let loose my umbilical cord, she let go her anguish as her soul echoed through those concrete walls. Limited in movement, limited in speech, limited in size...I just lay there helpless, couldn't really find a way to dry her eyes. My ears were like a mop, absorbing every ounce of agony but my response was nothing but an endless cry. It's been two decades now but those memories still vociferate immensely. They still haunt my sleep, still cripple my walk and still disturb my speech. My heart still bleeds, my soul still grieves I'm just shameful of my deeds. ...
