Puzzle

His words cut me like glass.
Tore my past apart.
Tortured my life.
Destroyed my future.
My eyes flooded with tears.
I was ripped to pieces.
My life was a puzzle
And I always had to put it back together.
Until the day of realization,
That his words don’t define me.
My streams of tears turned to rays of joy.
My puzzle of 1,000 pieces
Now a beautiful picture.
My past is my past
But I don’t live there.
My future is undetermined.
The life I live now,
Is the path I make for my future.
Not his words.
But my actions.
