Oblivious Narcissist

Vulnerable you found me
Hard I fell
Giddy, hazy, like a daydream
Your wild eyes, your excitement
As little untruths surfaced
So slowly
I convinced myself I was the crazy one
Or was that you?
I let the white lies slide
Because I yearned to be with you
Then I forgave the big indiscretions
After all, I drove you to it right?
I lost myself in you
Nothing made sense except
The feeling I had when I was kissing you
Then the familiar pit in my stomach
You played with me like a new toy
As the novelty wore off
I found myself hanging on by my fingernails
As you devalued me
And plotted your next move
To ensure your pitiful need for assurance
And admiration
Would always be met
Flowing like a never-ending river
That never quenches your thirst
But left me empty, with a gaping hole
Like the rest
