Beauty Beyond Size

Huggable, lovable, kissable,
Things were beautiful back in the days,
Chubby children are sweethearts,
I was loved and praised for being who I am, thick...
But as I grow up, people being mean to me
Throwing hurtful judgments and I'm smitten,
I've changed,
I carve hatred upon myself,
I yearn for beauty and acceptance.

They start to tell me everything is wrong,
People start to tell me,
Skinny is beautiful,
They say I need to eat less, little and nought
Burn fat, exercise till I drop,
For they don't know the battleship I'm in
Those insecurities are killing me inside
I wish I weigh nothing at all

Too often I don't realize,
The destructive yell of
Criticism leave me in despair and take
The smile off from my face,
Just so you know
I may not be size 2,
But I embrace the curve and
I will never yield to people's perception
Of beauty
As beauty beyond size
