Words

Words are not enough,
Overrated and abused 
Thoughts often unspoken 
Passive and unused 
There's so much you could have said but so little words you found,
Lost in emotion the words barely made a sound,  
If only you could have said what was spinning in your mind,
Caught in the moment the words seem impossible to find,
Time stands still as the tongue becomes a lifeless piece of meat,
Mumbling vague noises when giving into defeat,
If you could say the words that you so strongly feel,
Behind the smiles and laughter masks the scars that do not heal,
Though words are not enough and actions are forbidden,
Emotions lay unspoken and often unwritten,  
Disheartened by the struggle of  words we fail to find,
Mostly we close our hearts and with it we shut our eyes and mind.
