Fading Tears

Staring unto open space
seeing naught at all.
Numb am i
but why do i feel the tickle in my toe.
You have succumbed to the grave
yet you still linger here.
I want to rescue you
yet want to free you from me.
You are falling too fast and too deep
i want to reach out but my hand won't move.
I see despair in your eyes
but my heart won't flinch.
You are out there somewhere
but here you are out of sight.
I still want you near
but when near don't want you here.
Death has devoured you before me
this you i do not know.
