When I'm down and out and lonely, and my heart is filled with fear,
And my cross is far too heavy, with troubles I can't seem to bear.

Sweet Jesus take my hand.

The light was ever shining, but I failed to see it's beam,
Till about a year ago, I emerged from the darkness and seen.

Now my life is far richer, I have learned to love this light,

I beg you don't desert me when my heart is full of woe,
Lord lift the dark clouds and show us the route to go.

We know that there is heaven and that there is a hell,

I had a dream the other day, that I could change the world.
I'd give all men dignity equality for all.

To the far east I'd give priority and I'd sow the land with wheat,

She was just a few days old
A little bundle of joy
When her worried teenage mother
Abandoned her in the snow.

Sweet Jesus Take My Hand

When I'm down and out and lonely, and my heart is filled with fear,
And my cross is far too heavy, with troubles I can't seem to bear.

Sweet Jesus take my hand.

When the night is dark and dreary, and the hill is far too steep,
Lord keep me in your footsteps though thunder and lightening streaks.

Sweet Jesus take my hand.

There is comfort in your touch Lord, salvation as I gaze in your eyes,
Your presence is all that is needed, As I faithfully walk by your side.

Sweet Jesus take my hand.
