Life is such a wonderful thing.
But so much at once is happening.
No longer a boy, but not yet a man,
I continue this battle I once began.

The Battle of Life is the name,
Of this treacherous fight I try to tame.
Filled with all its twists and turns,
I realize I can only learn.

Learn of the things that hold me back,
And keep me from my full force attack.
Destroying the goals I set so high,
Leaving me hurt and ready to die.

But in the distance, what I thought was the end,
Turned out to be these things called friends.
They helped me up back to my feet.
For they did not want to see my defeat.

Instead, they stood by my side.
Assisting me with every stride.
Rebuilding those goals I set so high.
Making me feel as if I could fly.

Now having these friends with me,
Made the Battle of Life seem easy.
Yes, fighting alone led me to trouble,
But my friends were able to wipe away the rubble.

Good friends are there through thick and thin,
Only wanting to see you succeed and win.
With my friends, I feel so free.
Without my friends, where would I be?
