Uncertainty

Uncertainty is the feeling
Which now overwhelms me,
For what was once so certain
Is no longer what seemed to be. As time goes by,
People seem to grow together.
Alas, not with us,
We even disagree about the weather. There was a time that of the future
Was all of our dreams.
Now I cannot believe how long ago
All of that seems. What was once so
Solidly agreed upon,
Instead of being a building block,
It too, seems to have gone. So what I am left with
Is the worst one that could be
And that is this painful feeling
Of uncertainty.
