Freedom Is On Its Way

I think she was the bravest of them all,
She took the hardest fall,
but still got up and climbed that wall.
Through hard times, through pain,
she sang a tune,
the days are not over yet-
there is still more to gain.
When she felt like giving up,
she poured the negativity out of her cup.
Yuoung and old ones,
huddled up at night and said,
If I can't be free,
I'd rather be dead.
But the they did not lead their hearts astray-
For freedom, a profound desire,
was on its way.
One night, scary and hopeful,
fearful and doubtful
ran she ran.
Panting for breath I have just began.
Run screamed the forest.
Run buzzed the bee.
Her name wasHariet Tubman,
and she would be free!
