The Ocean

The echoes come and go,

A rose,
Gets its colour and fragrance,
From the root,
And man,

The Ocean

The Ocean

Chanting from long ago,
The echoes come and go,
Leaving only,
My wet, shoeless toes.
Too many, do we owe,
To the ocean, the indomitable.

Where the ocean kissed the southern shore,
It's beauty, not needing any decor,
We can do nothing, but adore,
This empyreal place,
Sitting in peace, still turning the oar.

The horizon strolled down his staircase,
And all was left, was the occasional splashes,
Which were always followed by the utter silence.

The eerie silence was shattered by a scream.
Whatever it was, it was gone,
In my head, I heard silent laughter,
Of the body of something yet to be discovered,
And the ocean was left shivering by the touch of morning wind.

Back at home,
Words spread like leaves in a storm,
Soon, everyone knew I was still alive,
A survivor of the evil tides,
But deep inside,
I knew the ocean was peaceful,
The most peaceful place there is.

However, this word didn't spread like leaves in a storm…

This time, the word that was spread was not about the peace in oceans that I intended to do so,
It was about me,
the fact that I was a lunatic,
one that lied.

Nice Poem. Love how you changed the view of the ocean. Love how you connected the ocean to peace and love.
