Confessions Of A Bargirl

The bar girl shyly confesses
That she has fallen in love,
The first time since barely a child.
Embarrassed by this strange and lovely weakness
But hardened by such long experience,
This feels good,
But oh how she worries;
Vulnerable is something
She thought she had long forgotten.

Most customers are harmless,
No hopers, pleasant and delightful,
Just as shy as she suddenly feels right now.
But when the few lash out, oh so fast,
So unprovoked, nasty boys in men’s bodies
Tip her scales,
Of course she’s now wary,
Softened flesh scars: ...
