1. Me Poem by Gordon Hoffman

1. Me

I think it's time to comprehend
the issue's me and not your friends
So I look myself in the mirror
and I hope to god I don't live forever
So I strangle out my vocal cords
I don't like the sound of me anymore

So I look at you and I wanna die
I belong in the empty sky
I lost the greatest thing to alcohol
I climb a ladder so I can fall
So I look at you and I wanna cry
You should be the one who's still alive
I lost my debutante to alcohol
I climb a ladder so I can fall

Mom, I need a doctor, there's something wrong
I got this feeling that I don't belong
Doctor mock me to my chagrin
am I too fat to fit in?
So I lock myself in this mental ward
I need love my life can not afford
So I look myself in the mirror
and I hope to god no one sees me ever

So I look at you and I wanna die
I belong in the empty sky
I lost the greatest thing to alcohol
I climb a ladder so I can fall
So I look at you and I wanna cry
You should be the one who's still alive
I lost my debutante to alcohol
I climb a ladder so I can fall

in the arms of self-loathing where loneliness hid
the parents I cherished have vaped into mist
I cut my estrangement in the palms of my wrist
Complete oblivion yet permanent bliss

So I look at you and I wanna die
I climb a ladder to Babel Sky
Standing in Concorde's sights
I lost my turtledove in flight
So I look at you and I wanna cry
I climb a ladder to fall into my
little sister's tearless eye
Her photo lens of my demise

I think it's time to comprehend
the issue's me and not your friends
