10 Stitches And A Lie Poem by Daniel Tyree

10 Stitches And A Lie

It's 2am and the hospital psychiatrist stares at me
with eyes paid to care.
The math is not on my side.
10 stitches and a lie.
I swear I wasn't trying to kill myself, Ijust wanted to see
my pulse looked like from the inside.
And as I explained I have to rewind and rewind, and rewind to when it all began.
Where did this come from?
Maybe the perfect mold of perfection known as Barbie.
I always wanted to be like Barbie.
Now, I hope that someday Barbie is like me!
