2 An Eternity Poem by Casual Diamond

2 An Eternity

Minded schemes of allsorts
Still filling my mind
Diamonds, Champagne and late nights
Remind me of the better times
Of past loves, sighs and kisses
All worth a place in my time
But dark nights, ice and chilly winds
Just confine me to this colder place
One I don't want to face
There's no union in my mind.

We could have been enjoying the sunshine
Joyous to just simply be a part
Of something always much greater than just two
But how could we ever start
It's none of our faults you know
Someone else is pulling the strings
Throwing hot coals onto our path
Making us walk, having clipped our wings
It's a time I don't want to face
There's no unity in my mind.

I'll be changing to new scenery soon
Sun, stars and moon to guide
And should today come back to haunt me
Then tomorrow I'll take in my stride
The diary's empty pages tell the story
Of my eternities time
My day of reckoning now much closer
Making me question my very own pride
A feeling I don't want to face
There's no harmony in my mind.
