24' Falls Poem by Doha Says

24' Falls

The winds that blew me away
The September that hatch
Reminds me of my first fall
Four years in my batch

Dream, drift, deceit, desire
All it ended for you, I divorced myself
Ran after you for I wanted you
Only you left me, found a regret.

You saw the future with you,
I saw the future with us
Reminds me of your clues
Was I in a rush, made a fool.

Date, decree, decay, death
You rise and flew, I fell deep in that rut
Am I okay? I wonder holding my breath
My fallout years, screams in my gut.

Pouring rain for growth here
Hinting me of lax GPA slopes
In four years, my hands bare
Had I planted my own crops.

Signs from God, even and odd
Kept reminding me of stone walls
So I loved myself, took the pieces - got bold
Last chance, so I answered his calls

Hello present, with me and God
This 24' Sept is here itself
Still reminds me of that sod
A silent ache, broke my shell.
