246. 'damaged' Poem by Ezra Lawhn

246. 'damaged'

Rating: 5.0

Who's more 'damaged'
Who can we blame
I'm surprised we haven't managed
To already throw shame

Whos more broken
Can they see
I'm a little more soft-spoken
Then some may be

Who's mentally ill
Who's taking a pill
Who's autistic or mentally disabled
Who can be labeled

Things are better they say
Things are better now
We know a better way
Really? Cool and wow.

I hope things have changed
I desperately hope
That has been arranged
Because it's a slippery slope

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this because ableism and mental ilness stigma both suck, and we should destroy them with fire.
