3: 20 Am 5/15 Poem by Kai Ford

3: 20 Am 5/15

3: 20 and up to pee
Miss you but not enough to text you,
though that would be what what either of us would normally do.
Want to hear your voice but not enough to call.
Wonder how awkward it would make you feel,
Knowing you don't feel the same way about me
And if you do, it's not enough to hold your word.

My mind quickly flutters its rolodex back to that early am call in late Dec.
It's left me wondering was it worth answering at all?
Knowing the countless ichat dates, blessed receptioned Sundays would lead to here.
A place of feeling like time was wasted.
Rearranged scheduling to accommodate our communication
Raised voices that disturb the past while the future is decidedly handwritten by you.
The present full of empty promises leaking drops of selfishness.
Your present certainty masks the bigger problem...YOU!
