My beating heart upon your giving tongue
these words and colours in your waters they run
every pulse shakes them loose, lets them fall
every breath they rise up, one and all
shallow ribbon streams, into tidal pools
to roaring oceans' depth, taking lives from fools.
Rise up out from those darkened eyes
be reborn and shout with joyous surprise
for though we course upon this endless abyss
following that forgotten scent, confident we shall not miss
and though it is seen that this time it moves fast
we beleive that it sends us through destiny's pass.
No fate is ours but what we might make
there is no such thing as a simple mistake
we learn and we grow in this world it is true
and when its all over and our return is due
we'll see we're already in that sought after space
that we long ago chose our final resting place.
