42 & Bridges Poem by Sam Clemens

42 & Bridges

Time
It's always running
Running out
What is its value
Is it a thing
What is a thing
Am I a thing
Are you a thing

Thing
T-H-I-N-G
Why does the world rotate
Why do we live
What is the meaning of life
42

No
There must be something more than this
The point was once to survive
Now it is
Money
Success
Legacies

Something that will be left
If not taken by a klepht
Will the world be something of meaning

? ? ?

Question
Q-U-E-S-T-I-O-N
Miss,
My hand in the air
Why?
I ask
May the world be so simply complicated

Conundrums, palindromes, semordnilaps, homophones, oxymorons
Life is simple
Survive
But now we are over the constant need to survive

Hakuna Matata
No worries

Pick your poison
It can be anything
Survival is not key
But comfort is now

You're making time run faster
Do it now
Regret it later

While time is being wasted
Its essence used up
Whatever sympathy it had for you and all your spoiled materialistic things
Are gone
Gone
Sinking down the drain

Washing through your brains
Like sand through a sieve
The only things that matter are things
Can be admired
can be touched
DO they last long, or make your time run out
What about something more essential than survival or materialistic things?

Time is running
Running out
Each second, minute, day, week, month, year goes faster

We spend our luxuries in time
Wasting it as if there is an endless supply
But there isn't

Time cannot be brought back
Returned or given away
This time when give back your luxuries you can't get back your time
The possibilities are only to use or to waste
Binging
Sitting
Watching
Who ever heard of being outside?

A response
You can't turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again

The paleness from being inside
from just doing nothing
Nothing but living and wasting time away
It's more precious
Enjoy while you can
For all we know
It is a bridge of 42s burning behind us as we walk across
Your childhood, no responsibilities to look for
No awareness but comfort
Nurture it

We can look there
But never go
back
