5 Senses Of Danger Poem by Darren T

5 Senses Of Danger

I hear the creak in the landing, the opening of my door
I hear a silhouette, I'm honestly not so sure
I am sleeping tightly, not ready for what's in store
Footsteps coming closer, I hear them tread along the floor

I feel the rustled duvet, I feel a gust of wind
I am shuffled over, something's about to begin
My underwear is lowered, cold hands are on my skin
I am feeling fear and I really want to scream

I can smell the smell of perfume, one I used to like
now every time I smell it, I'll be reminded of this night
The smell of something new appears something I don't like
I've never smelled this smell before, it's the first time in my life

now everything is still and they are beginning to leave
I can taste my own disgust with every breath I breathe
I'm guilty to the core, it's just not what it seems
I am tasting fear and I really want to scream

This ordeal is finished, but now I'm wide awake
I didn't see what happened and yet I lie in pain
I didn't see this coming and now I feel ashamed
I didn't stop this from happening so I deserve the blame
