*99 Bananarama

Rating: 3.0

Oh my dear Banana please tell me
You really are a very handsome fellow
Who framed your powerful symmetry
Your fruit so sweet and your coat so yellow?
Oh my dear Banana can it be
That he who made the prune - made thee?

O my proud Banana please tell me
Order ZINGIBERALES - Familly MUSACAE
You have such a pedigree
That no one can deny
Aristocratic pedigree
When we see your Family Tree.

Oh my fine Banana please tell me
Where you got your yellow coat
Did you sail from Ecuador
On the Banana Boat?
Or maybe it was China or Brazil
The Phillipines - Columbia
They grow Bananas still.

We can't grow them in England
Or Scotland - Ireland or Wales
We import all of our Bananas
And bag them up and weigh them out on scales.
We all eat Bananas - eat them by the ton
And they provide the energy for Stars at Wimbledon.

We dont mind you shape Sir
Short - long or bent or straight
And we won't let the EEC
Your dimensions dictate.
As long as they're Bananas
We'll eat them by the score
Raw and cold or baked or fried
We'll still come back for more.

We'll eat them in the morning
We'll eat them in pyjamas
Just like the monkeys - in the trees
We've all gone bananas.
