A Ballad Of The Moon And Dreamland Poem by Chidera Patrick

A Ballad Of The Moon And Dreamland

The moon came into the cast
In the rush of flowering shore
I hit my heart in the best of bloom
Out of the Sun's way hidden apart Under the bloom i hid my heart
In a softer bed than the squashy white snows is
I did not wear My cherry coat
For blood and wine are red
And blood and wine were in my hands
Oh mother, where is pleasure
Left me bewailing, now i cannot guess
Some day, the war will end, but oh, i knew
That my sweet love would have to be false
Would have been false
Would have to court flirtatious deaths Whose Audacious and strange possessive arms and beauty (of a sort)
I speak of love that comes to mind The moon is faithful, although blind
I move in thought i can't speak Perfect care has made me bleak
The earth so dark, so long my sleep
I have become another child
I want to see the world go wild…
