There's a battle ahead of me;
my heart and mind are at odds with reality —
pulling in different directions,
each echoing truths that don't quite align.
Every fibre of my being feels worn,
exhausted from past fights;
and yet… there's a faint light still flickering within —
a spirit that hasn't completely given up.
Is that sliver of hope enough to face the storm that's coming?
I don't feel ready.
I love him.
He's like a raindrop falling gently
into the cracks of a long-overworn desert —
unexpected, refreshing,
bringing life to a place I thought had long dried up.
He brought light into a very dim moment of my life.
But now, reality seems determined to snuff it out
before it even gets the chance to shine fully.
Everything in me feels right when I'm with him.
Does he make me happy?
That word barely scratches the surface.
He gives me peace.
Peace with both who I was and who I am now.
He feels like he was sent by God Himself.
Yes, reality has its reasons —
reasons drawn from the past,
facts that seem valid…
but they don't consider what could be.
What writes the future anyway?
Love… faith… choice?
All I know is that I love him.
And I want to see where life takes us.
