A Beautiful Nightmare Poem by Chris Starr

A Beautiful Nightmare

It was the light to which i wondered, of
loves throws might be quandered.
Though loves wounds be deep, all the
deeper, cumber lovers be.
Though light, thought safe to be, twas
where lovers swathe and squander me.
Doth thou' keep the dark, or the dark
keep the'
Why nor how one got, care not, does
dark seas.
Hair black as night she wrapped me, the
dark she knows, how cold it keeps.
Pale skin, moon bright my light, deep to
her breast, she pressed me tight.
Her lips, to mine press, parts of her I
would address, ofno part, would I
wreck.
life of her breath, two hearts now beat,
know not did we the cost or currency.
Open eyes, hard to see, oh how painful
the sun can be.
Real eyes, see what can be, Im missing
parts, still her parts, part of me.
None of this i would regress. Free the
robin, though red his breast, cage the
rest
I am her, and she is me. To them parts
I'll give and they'll give me.
-of you I dream
