A Better Tomorrow Together Poem by Blake Porter

A Better Tomorrow Together

Rating: 5.0

One day,
We'll live in a place where we awake to the sun on our faces,
Not an alarm clock blaring,
We'll make coffee to the sound of the wind,
Not the honking of horns,
We will sit and watch the waves,
Not the news of past days horrific events,
We will lay out on the sand,
With not a soul in sight,
We will swim in the ocean,
And smell no oil or hear no motors,
We will take showers in the rain,
Not the chlorine infused muck pumped through our pipes,
We will cook dinner of an open flame,
Not electric plates under glass,
We will eat with our hands,
Not man-made plastic utensils,
We will fall asleep to the sound of the ocean,
The sight of the star scattered sky,
And the warmth of each other.
