A Bit Of Warmth Poem by Dana Korneisel

A Bit Of Warmth

"Then I'd hold it, that moment, until I couldn't take it any longer"

***

Like a frozen moment during a deep breath
Right before your lungs are filled

A feeling high up in your chest
Almost cold, but with a strange warmth
From outside
From him.

It's that minuscule instant
That second, that moment
Like saturated air
Goosebumps

His warm hands on my arms
On my neck

An unfinished sentence
Lost thoughts

Pull me in, for that moment
Until we can't take it
Then

Only warmth.
