A Boy Has Grown Poem by Jeffrey A. Swim

A Boy Has Grown

Rating: 5.0

A boy has grown, no more time to spend.
Those days are gone and at an end.

The fearful eyes and shattered heart,
dreams broken, torn apart.

Fading memories pass through his mind.
It's done at last. They've been unkind.

No more lies. No more pain.
He's spent too many nights in that cold bitter rain.

Those walks were long. Left him weak and beaten.
They've aged his bones, and cut him deep in.

Deep into his soul, into his being.
No one could look through his eyes
at what he's seeing.

Here he is. A boy no more.
A man must be for ever more.
