A Broken Apology Poem by Cheyenne A.

A Broken Apology

As sure as the rivers flow back to the sea
You'll be following me
Sing softly through the willows and pines
Break easy on this heart of mine
Though I graced your warmth
Benign your hand in mine
Tears I shed sear deeply
Feverishly I cry
Love is like a broken mirror
Regrets and departures too soon
See a dove bring peace
And shadows cast before the moon
Do I miss the blue oceans
Of dirt, banks, and mud
The man towering above me
Speaking softly, serene, and of love
May your path lead you home
I am kept at the door
You have the key
I ask nothing more
Yet no beacon I have
To guide your sights to see
Caress once more
To set my weary soul free
