A Bullimic Poem by Elodie Devine

A Bullimic

As the darkness closes in
Everything I have known fades away
The stormy sky eases my anxiety
It understands me

I no longer remember what light looks like
Every thought is conquered by pain
All I can think of is food
What an evil thing it is

Lately, death has crept up into my thoughts
What a kind thing
Instant relief, a coward's escape
It has no place in my life

Awww, the music sings in my head
My thoughts swim in circles
La, la, la, splish splash
What humor. What torture
