A Candle Light During The Day Poem by Roxanne Dubarry

A Candle Light During The Day

In her dark and lonely room.
There is a single candlestick's
flickering. She cries her
heart out both by night
and by night.

Well meaning words for those
who love are as worthless
a tear stained dish rag.

She thought him to be true,
He was fickle.
She gave him her heart.
Only to have it completely
torn into tiny torn up
pieces. Which only blew
away in the wind.

She gave him her hand.
He hurt it.
She gave him her face,
and he slapped it
very hard.

He started beating her
one time too many.
Her soul and her spirit
left her lifeless body.

As for him he has a tiny
room with bars for the door.
And a heart that bleeds for
a love which is no more.

Love as always,
