A Christian Sailor's Song Poem by mike ruthenbeck

A Christian Sailor's Song

A smokescreen sunrise creeping brightness
Rays of golden fingers stretching
As am I, in sore muscle tightness
before a dream on page starts sketching

Already clutching, not just grabbing
the phone on which i type this text
I miss you more with Youtube blabbing
Alone I sit in love, most vexed

For surely, love has not so much to do with sitting
Or missing, partying, making love, or fighting
Love, like woolen sweater fitting
Is, alone, across my heart bitting

FOr when you walk away, into the day
And start your car and drive away
I feel like lonely dog, longing masters play
I feel like little boy, burning forehead stomach
aching tuck me in for here i stay...

Sashulia, i miss you more and more with passing moment
And i love you more each rising sun
and your morning smile's great bestowment
see me through my work undone

For my love is not here for sitting, waiting, wishing
Idly passing time until you next arrive
Nor is it just towards art or writing, or even fishing
I need your prescience to stay alive

So now I write this plaintive song
Yearning most for your adoration
And even though it has not been long
Since i wrote my last poetic creation

I feel eons hace passed since i told you well
and true, with beauty, why i pursue
Stay true, love you, and still retell
the world these things to look and view

Because you are light in my world of grey and fog
It is my greatest honor to hold your hand
My life before was lonesome Gulag
Now is like a paradise dreamland

Never, in my life, have i been so loved
Never, in my life, have i known love this deep
In with drink and malice shoved
Are insecurities, and fears, one small broom sweep

And away is all that plagues my heart
you say you love me and i grow new bones!
for with every single verse i start
to fill your blood with lovely hormones!

i love you, Sashulia, more when youre away
And more again when home we stay
and more so yet when both we lay
or walk hand in hand along the bay
