'A Conversation With The Dead' Poem by David Cleveland

'A Conversation With The Dead'

I saw this man. He was staring at me.
He started to cry, so I asked what did you see?

He said he saw a man who walked in pain.
A man possessed. a man insane.

A man who screamed, the voices are real.
Over and over, they tell me to kill.

You ask why I was crying, and what did I see?
I saw you kill a man. I cry because that man was me
