A Dark Night Poem by Priyaranjan Ojha

A Dark Night

Rating: 2.5

Throughout the whole night
My window remained shut,
Hardly I could see
My own seemingly beautiful face!
Even my long and wide mirror
Failed utterly to reflect,
It's master's face!
Oh how dark the night was!
Darker within, than the dark outside.
I knew not how
Time overcame the long night.
My consciousness only woke up
When entered the morning breeze,
Into my room, forcefully,
Through the cracks of window.
In a harsh, a reflection
Went through my restless mind.
Finally I opened my window.
But what was going to happen,
Already happened!
Oh, how I always was
A true afraid member of dark night,
But strange! I enjoyed
The whole darkness of that night!
Now I wish in vain
If I kept my window open,
Then I could enjoy the fear of darkness,
Rather the dark night itself!
