A Day In The Life Poem by Demi T. Davies

A Day In The Life

The day is brimming with beauty
And full of fresh promises
The sun smiles down on you
As it lights up the eastern skies
And wishes you a good day

You are bubbling with optimism
Getting ready to go out
And then a wrench is thrown
Into the smooth running of your day

Dark clouds gather overhead
Obliteratin the sun
From there, things go downhill very fast

You can't find your favourite sweater
The eggs are burnt, the toast bad
The coffee tastes like cold hell
And your mood plummets down

But then u decide to still have a great day

So you skip the bad breakfast
Get soaked in the rain
Arrive school wet, and shivering, and late
You forgot your wallet at home
Your phone battery's dead...

But you refuse to let nothing dampen your spirits
And still manage to have a good time

And in the evening,
As the sun hastens to its resting place
In the western hills
It smiles at you
And you smile back
