A Day We Must Explain! Poem by Joseph Arthur Gabara

A Day We Must Explain!

The day started off like any other,
but in a fleeting moment, there was one less mother.
From a world that shares all this pain,
it is a day we must explain.
It was unimaginable all the lives he took,
all the beautiful people of Sandy Hook.
No more excuses, it can't be in vain;
it is definitely a day, we must explain.
But out of the horrors humanity was saved,
as many rushed in and Heroes were made.
Scholars and Clergy could not predict the pain;
they said it was a day we could never explain.
Religion and Gun Laws did not have a part;
family and home is where morals start.
But through all this tragedy, and for the innocent who were slain,
it is a day we must explain!
