A Dotted Sky Poem by Ryan Tosh

A Dotted Sky

Rating: 4.3

Did you spot it, blinking in the dark sky like a beacon?
Did you feel the emptiness that it brings, unwilling to show us any signs of life?
A speckled blanket of a night sky, always changing and rearranging.
The exhilaration of communicating to other species light years away and the beauty of the stillness it sets in our mind.
The elegance and mystery of comets, nebulas, stars, and what little we know about them. But all we want to know. Have you heard it? Or haven’t you heard, the nothingness of space. No sounds, no heat, no anything. But still the beauty and curiosity still binds us to know, and learn.
About a never-ending, forever widening, darkness. And do you still wonder, still believe, that the darkness can be empty, silent?
Just a wasteland? Or do you think it is, beauty in its own little way?
