A Dream Buster Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

A Dream Buster

Abruptly roused up from slumber
for the cerebral grumbler to ponder

Envisioned seed, viable and germinable
I picked you up from somewhere
not for the tinge and hue of the crust
robustness of figure, or the lushness
ecto-dermal outfit held; did you realize?

Abruptly roused up to ponder

Shape, size and look of yours
never lured me, but I did hoard
mountains of sentimental, but sensual
futuristic hopes on nascent ability
to emerge, grow, entwine and ensue
a robust vine of akin genome of proven ability
to race, for the race, on generic potential
to bloom ‘n bear fruits for the hunger

Abruptly roused up to ponder ‘n wonder

You never defied, just held on inertly
For what, I do not know, but, did you?
Did you ever yearn, consciously
to be in the hands of a grower
rather than a pauper or an eater
and be cared, reared and espoused
least of all, for your own sake?
I wonder!
