A Dream's Strange Brew Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

A Dream's Strange Brew

Sweet and sour, side by side,
Love and hate within, they ride.

Maybe feelings, deep inside,
Need a place to gently hide.

A big event, a changing scene,
Emotions mixed, both sharp and keen.

The brain is sorting, late at night,
Turning darkness into light.

Or maybe fears, I keep them down,
Dream practice, wearing a crown.

What scares me most, I see it clear,
Rehearsing strength, banishing fear.

A hidden self, the shadowed part,
The things I hide, inside my heart.

The dream reveals, what I deny,
To find a balance, reaching high.

Too much sunshine, needs a shade,
Too much sorrow, serenade.

Dreams push and pull, to find the key,
To make a balanced, better me.
