A drunkards' party
Never do I appreciate it
In new year's eve.
Is it high class culture
Or low class culture
To devastate one's own family?
How do bottles take a toll
Upon life,
How miserable can life be
You don't know it?
Bottles, bottle-men,
Some buying, some selling,
Some smashing and crashing
Never can I admire it.
Is it modernity to be an addict,
Is it fashion to drink not, overdrink
And those who make it drink,
What sort of men are they!
How are they who collect taxes, take excise duties,
Can they not do the health check-up
Together with their drinking,
In drunkenness they are taking?
But have you about their liver and lungs,
Kidney and health and hygiene,
Their parents,
Daughters and children and wives?
Only give you not wine, restrict them
So that they may not overdrink,
Fall not on the roads, meet not with accidents
Emptying bottles, after partying.
After all, they are drunkards,
They do not know what they are doing,
Where they are rambling and straying,
Staggering to fall.
