A Eulogy For My Brother Bear Poem by stephanie mellisa kievaughan

A Eulogy For My Brother Bear

As my Final months
Did unwind.
My Toxic Blood
Befuddled my mind.

In my Final weeks
I could not eat.

On my final day's
Thine eye's were Fixated
With the ceiling.

Though my ears
Were keen & aware
Until my Final Hour

He whom we all
Have an appointment with.
Likened unto an art thief
In the night.

Death has come
Bearing a knife.
For which to cut
My Canvas...My Soul..
Away from my frame...my Body

I will beg your pardon.
I need plea my Last Defense.
My closing argument
Is Rather simple.

To my Daughter.
Half the sum of you.
Is all of me.

To my Grandchildren
A Quarter of the sum of you
Is all of me.

Therefore I can not Abandon you
I promise you for it is true.
I can never Leave you.

Keep your hearts & ears open.
Listen for my voice.
Likened unto the Dandelion Tuft
Drifting upon the wind.

If you find your self stranded
Far away from Home.
I'll be the strongest
Parts of you.
That keeps you marching on.

Through Hard times
We must pause in Life's pleasures.
And count Life's many tear's

Oh Brother you Lingered
For so many days
Around our Cabin door.

By the Grace of God.
Hard times Brother
Will come your way never more.
We know you will Linger
Around our Cabin door.
For a Little while more.
