A Father's Lines (10) Poem by Elna Nel

A Father's Lines (10)

gone are the days
when pride was
a crowding ship
in full chase of the
ghosts of the past

words became
melodies of hope
when you helped
me see what
makes you happy

and anger's pursue
like frightening
sharks are gone
and scarred or not
we'll sail this ship

not minding rocks
and every swell
we'll enter the bay
steering like true
sailors love's way
